ARIS has moved to the Health and Social Care Board
On Friday 31st July 2015, the British Association for Adoption and Fostering, a leading charity which operated throughout the UK, announced they had gone into administration due to financial difficulties.
BAAF in Northern Ireland was under contract with the Health and Social Care Board to provide the Adoption Regional Information System (ARIS) which seeks to link children and families who are waiting for adoption across Northern Ireland. BAAF going into administration had the effect of ending the HSCB’s contract with BAAF and this was terminated on 31st August 2015.
The decision was taken to transfer the Adoption Regional Information System to the Health and Social Care Board with effect from 1st September 2015. Sarah Johnston, who was previously employed by BAAF as ARIS Child Placement Consultant, also transferred to the Board on this date.
All personal data held on ARIS has been securely transferred to the Health and Social Care Board, which remains committed to the provision of ARIS. The service will continue to operate in full from the Directorate of Social Care and Children, Health and Social Care Board, Level 3, 12-22 Linenhall Street, Belfast BT2 8BS.
If you have any concerns or queries in relation to the transfer of the ARIS service, please contact Sarah Johnston, ARIS Manager, on 028 9536 3098 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
