Chair: Dr Dermot Maguire
Dr Dermot Maguire is Chairperson and GP Lead of the North Belfast ICP.
Dr Maguire is from Belfast and has been a GP in North Belfast for 17 years. He trained at Queen’s University Belfast and the Mater Hospital, and is experienced in GP appraisal and GP post graduate training. His notable area of specific expertise and interest is in pre-hospital emergency care.

South Belfast
Chair: Dr Martin Cunningham
Dr Martin Cunningham is Chairperson and GP Lead of South Belfast ICP. He qualified in Medicine from Queen’s University Belfast in 1985 and started General Practice in 1990. A member of the Royal College of GPs (MRCGP) from 1991, he spent 9 years as a GP partner in Kilkeel, Co Down before returning to Belfast in 2003 as a partner at University Health Centre at Queen’s. He was a member of Belfast Local Commissioning Group from 2013-2017.
A Fellow of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine, Ireland and a member of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine UK, Dr Cunningham runs an orthopaedic triage session once a week for Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. He is an Associate Member of the Faculty of Travel Medicine and runs a travel medicine clinic within the practice.
Dr Cunningham is a strong advocate for student health and has contributed to a Royal College of Psychiatrists review of Student Mental Health in 2011. He is a member of the Eastern Local Medical Committee and the Northern Ireland General Practitioner’s Committee (NIGPC) and sits on the Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland as NIGPC representative. He is also a Board member for the Federation of Family Practices for South Belfast.

East Belfast
Chair: Dr Alan Stout
Dr Alan Stout is Chairperson and GP Lead of the East Belfast ICP.
He has been a GP principal in a practice in East Belfast for 12 years and is actively involved in the local GP out of hours.
Dr Stout is an active member of the British Medical Association, and is currently deputy chair of the Northern Ireland General Practice Committee.
Over the years he has been involved in various aspects of service development and innovation through roles with the Belfast Local Commissioning Group, Primary Care Partnerships and now the East Belfast ICP.

West Belfast
Chair: Dr Grainne Bonnar
Dr Grainne Bonnar is Chairperson and GP lead of the West Belfast ICP. She has been a partner in a West Belfast GP Practice for 18 years and is a former member of the Belfast Local Commissioning Group (2007-2013).Dr Bonnar developed and lectured on the clinical skills programme of the first nurse practitioner programme in Northern Ireland, set up by the Royal College of Nursing in partnership with the University of Manchester from 1995-1997. She was Programme Director on the General Practice Speciality Training Programme, Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency (1997-2006); Associate Director of postgraduate general practice education (2006-2007); and Deputy Director of postgraduate general practice education (2009-2012).
Since 2012, Dr Bonnar has focused on service development work and was previously clinical lead of the West Belfast Primary Care Partnership, which developed an innovative common mental health problems referral hub, working with GPs, statutory and community and voluntary sector providers.
In 2012, Dr Bonnar was awarded Fellowship of Royal College of General Practitioners (FRCGP). She also holds a Masters in Medical Education (MMedSci).
