People living with diabetes and carers are urged to give their views on the use of digital technology in managing the condition.
As part of its Citizen Poll, the Diabetes Network for Northern Ireland wants to hear from those living with diabetes about whether they think diabetes technology has helped and supported them.
The online survey, which launched on 12 May, will enable people living with the condition and those caring for someone with diabetes to share their views and experiences.
Among the digital technology currently used are insulin pumps; flash glucose monitors (FGM) and apps, as well as online videos and virtual events.
Programme Lead for the Diabetes Network, Joanne McKissick, said over the last decade there has been considerable innovation in digital technology available to support people living with diabetes.
“The challenge is to ensure that innovation is encouraged and that the introduction of new technology is managed in a structured and considered way.
“Diabetes digital technology is fast changing and we want to hear your views. These will help our work to improve the lives of people living with diabetes, carers, and health and social care professionals working in partnership with Diabetes UK.
The Diabetes Network for Northern Ireland was established in 2016 and brings together people living with diabetes, their carers and health and social care professionals to work in partnership on the design and delivery of better diabetes services.
The Network is led by the Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) in partnership with the Public Health Agency and Diabetes UK Northern Ireland.
