What support is available?

The RTN intends to remove barriers, co-ordinate support, and ensure that existing services are integrated in a way that offers seamless movement and access to a range of options which could include:

Trauma-Focused Therapies such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Prolonged Exposure (PE)
  • These are examples of evidence-based psychological therapies that are recommended by NICE guidelines for treating individuals with trauma (including PTSD and C-PTSD) and associated mental health problems.

Complementary Therapies

  • Such as reflexology, massage and aromatherapy. These therapies can aid relaxation and improve your sense of wellbeing.

Psychological Therapies

  • Other psychological approaches including counselling and life coaching.

Social Support Activities

  • Opportunities to meet other people with shared interests, build friendships and social connection, who may have had similar experiences to you.

Personal and Professional Development

  • Opportunities to develop new skills, grow your knowledge in a new subject or participate in learning activities with other people.

Truth, Justice and Acknowledgment (Advocacy)

  • Advocacy support to help you to explore the truth, justice and acknowledgement options open to you and what this might mean for you.

Welfare Support

Opportunity to avail of a Welfare Support Worker, who can assist you to engage with all types of welfare support including:

  • Universal Credit
  • Employment Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Housing and Personal Independence Payments (PIP) (including mandatory reconsiderations, appeals, reassessments).
  • Troubles Permanent Disablement Payment Scheme (TPDPS) also known as the Troubles/ Victims Pension.
  • Health and Wellbeing Support
