Update on GP Practices

Belfast LCG area

Grove Medical Practice

Further to Grove Medical Practice in Belfast handing back their GMS Contract with effect from 31 December 2022.  The Department of Health can confirm that a new GP contractor has been appointed for Grove Medical Practice

The new contractor, Dr Paul Loughrey, will take over the practice from 1 January 2023.

Patients of the practice will automatically be registered with the new practice so they do not need to take any action.

 

Flax Medical Centre

Flax Medical Centre recently informed the Department of Health that they wish to hand back their GMS Contract with effect from 31 December 2022. The DOH has advertised the Contract and are working towards a new Contract Holder being in place with effect from 1 January 2023.

South Eastern LCG area

Priory Surgery

Following the resignation of the GP partners at Priory and Springhill surgeries, South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust has agreed to take on the contract for Priory and Springhill surgeries located in Holywood and Bangor, North Down.

Under this new temporary arrangement, which will take effect from 1 February 2023, the Trust will work with the Department to secure ongoing locum GP cover for the practice.  Patients of the practice can be assured that its services will continue under the new arrangement.

Northern LCG area

Ballymena Family Practice – Contractor has handed back GMS Contract

The GP at Ballymena Family Practice (Dr P Loughrey) has handed back his contract to provide GP services. The Department of Health advertised the Practice with a view to appointing a new Contractor by 1st January 2023 but unfortunately no applications were received.

This means the 3282 patients of the practice will now be dispersed and registered with 18 neighbouring GP practices.

 

Bernaghmore Medical Practice – Contractor has handed back GMS Contract

The contractors at Bernaghmore Medical Practice (Dr Mark Dick & Dr Colin Dick) have given notice that they are resigning their contract to provide GP services from 31st May 2023.  The Department of Health will advertise the contract with a view to appointing a new contractor by 1st June 2023.

 

Racecourse Practice, Derry/Londonderry – Contractor has handed back their GMS contract

The contractors at Racecourse Practice, Shantallow, Co. Londonderry have given notice they are resigning their contract to deliver GP services.

The Department of Health will now begin a recruitment process to put new arrangements in place with a view to appointing a new Contractor from 1st June 2023.

We want to reassure patients that Racecourse Practice will continue to retain the contract to deliver GP services for the next six months

Patients will be written to informing them of this development.  Patients at the practice do not need to take any action. They should continue to contact the Practice as normal.

 

Western LCG area

Maple Healthcare Practice, Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh

Maple Healthcare, Lisnaskea, has informed the Department of Health that they wish to hand back their GMS contract. Department of Health is in the process of advertising the Practice with a view to appointing a new Contractor by 1st June 2023.

A letter has been sent to patients informing them of this development.

 

Dromore and Trillick Practice

The Western Health and Social Care Trust has taken on the contract for the Dromore and Trillick GP Practice in Co Tyrone.
