Practices with new contractors appointed

The GP Federation Contracts Management CIC took over the management of Newtownhamilton Health Centre from 1 November 2024. Bayview Medical Practice, Derry/Londonderry The Western Health and Social Care Trust has been temporarily appointed as the new contractor for Bayview Medical Practice in Derry/Londonderry from 16 October 2024. Ballymoney Health Centre The partners of Ballymoney Family Practice took over the management of Ballymoney Health Centre from 1 October 2024. The two practices have merged and become one practice. Portstewart Family Practice New contractor, Dr Johnny Burns & Partners has taken over the management of Portstewart Family Practice from 1 September 2024. Rathfriland Health Centre The GP Federation Contracts Management CIC has taken over the management of Rathfriland Health Centre from 1 September 2024. Annagh Family Practice and Waterside Medical Practice, Portadown New contractor, Dr Philip Lusty has taken over the management of Annagh Family Practice and Waterside Medical Practice from 1 September 2024. Dr McConville’s Surgery in Moy Drs Cleary & Colleran, an existing GP practice also located in Moy, has taken over the management of Dr McConville’s Surgery from 1 July 2024. Larne Medical Practice New contractor, Dr Johnny Burns and Partners, has taken over the management of Larne Medical Practice from 1 May 2024. Fintona Medical Practice New contractor, the Western Health and Social Care Trust, has taken over the practice from 1 April 2024. Donaghcloney Surgery The GP Federation Contracts Management CIC has taken over the contract for Donaghcloney Surgery from 1 January 2024. Cullybackey Health Centre New contractor, Dr Johnny Burns & Partners has taken over the contract for Cullybackey Health Centre from 1 December 2023. Kilkeel Medical Practice The Southern Health and Social Care Trust have temporarily taken on the contract for Kilkeel Medical Practice from 1st November 2023. Galgorm Surgery Rockfield Medical Centre will take over the contract for Galgorm Surgery from 1st September 2023. Brookeborough and Tempo Practice, Fermanagh The Western Health and Social Care Trust have temporarily taken on the contract for Brookeborough and Tempo Practice from 1st September 2023. Priory and Springhill Surgeries, Holywood and Bangor A new contractor, the Federation Support Unit (FSU GP Practice Management C.I.C) has taken on the contract for Priory and Springhill Surgeries practices from 1 August 2023. Bridge Street Family Practice, Derry/Londonderry Foyleside Family Practice will take over the contract for Bridge Street Family Practice from 1st August 2023. Maphoner Surgery, Mullaghbawn The Southern Health and Social Care Trust has been asked by the Department of Health to temporarily take over the running of the Maphoner Surgery following the retirement of the current GP from 1st July 2023. Racecourse Practice, Derry/Londonderry The Western Health and Social Care Trust will temporarily take on the contract for Racecourse Practice, Shantallow from 1st June 2023. Kells and Connor Medical Centre, Ballymena Dalriada Urgent Care has taken over the contract for Kells and Connor Medical Practice from 1st May 2023. Maple Healthcare Practice, Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh The Federation Support Unit (FSU GP Practice Management C.I.C), has taken over the practice from 1 May 2023. Bernaghmore Medical Practice, Ballymena The Federation Support Unit (FSU GP Practice Management C.I.C), has taken over the practice from 1 May 2023. Dr Graham’s Surgery, Cookstown The Federation Support Unit (FSU GP Practice Management C.I.C), has taken over the practice from 1 May 2023. Ballymena Family Practice, Ballymena A new contractor, the Federation Support Unit (FSU GP Practice Management C.I.C), has taken over the practice from 1 February 2023. Grove Medical Practice, Belfast New contractor, Dr Paul Loughrey, has taken over the practice from 1 January 2023. Flax Medical Centre, Belfast New contractor, Oldpark Group Surgery, has taken over the practice from 1 January 2023. Dromore and Trillick Practice, Co Tyrone The Western Health and Social Care Trust has temporarily taken on the contract for the Dromore and Trillick GP Practice in Co Tyrone from 1 July 2022. |
GP contract handbacks
| Fairhill Health Centre, Magherafelt
Fairhill Health Centre, Magherafelt, closed on 31 October 2024, with patients transferred to neighbouring practices from 1 November 2024. Crumlin Road Health Centre, Belfast The GMS Contract Holder, Dr O’Kane, Crumlin Road Health Centre served notice on 29 November 2024 of his intention to terminate his GMS contract from 31 March 2025. A recruitment process has commenced to secure a new contractor. Patients do not need to take any action and should contact the practice as normal. Rathkeeland Surgery, Crossmaglen The GMS contract holder, Drs Kevin and Brid Allen have served notice of their intention to terminate their contract. The contract will end on 31 August 2025 and the Department has begun a process to secure alternative arrangements for the practice. The Practice will continue to deliver GP services and patients do not need to take any action. They should continue to contact their practice as normal.
